Prescribed Burn - Gordon

A prescribed burn is taking place today on Point Hut Rd, near Gordon, in Canberra’s south.

Smoke and flames may be visible in the area while the burn is underway.

The burn is scheduled to take place from 4:00pm, weather permitting, and will be managed by the ACT Rural Fire Service.

Crews will remain on scene until the burn is safe to hand back to the rural landholder.

These carefully controlled burns are an important tool for managing our land and reducing fire risk.
