The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES), ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) and Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) have responded to 60 calls for help from the community following today’s storm activity.
Most calls for help have been related to damage caused by strong winds including fallen trees and flying debris.
Strong winds are expected to continue until tomorrow and the ACTSES advises the Canberra community to be mindful of their surroundings, not to stand or park their vehicles under trees and to stay away from fallen power lines.
Call 132 500 if you need help during storms or floods. In a life-threatening emergency, always call Triple Zero (000).
