ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the National Press Club in Barton to investigate a strong smell of smoke at approximately 4:40pm this afternoon. The venue was evacuated as firefighters investigated the source of the smell. The smell was attributed to a faulty air conditioner filter. Firefighters conducted atmospheric testing to ensure the venue was safe before handing back to the building managers.
