ACT Fire & Rescue have removed an unconscious person from a smoke logged unit in Howie Court, Belconnen.
At approximately 5:30pm, firefighters arrived on scene to find the fire already extinguished and made the scene safe. Initial investigations suggest the fire was caused by burnt food stuffs.
ACT Ambulance Service paramedics treated the patient on scene and transported them to Calvary Hospital in a stable condition.
ACT Fire & Rescue reminds the community "Don't stop looking while you're cooking".
