ADVICE - Update three - Grass fire on Murrumbidgee River

The ACT Rural Fire Service has almost extinguished a bushfire on private property on the Cotter Road.

Smoke was first reported on the Fairvale property along the Murrumbidgee River just before 9:30 this morning but no fire was found.

Fresh reports of smoke were recieved later this morning with first crews on scene confirming a fire in grass and bush land.

Several crews will remain on scene tonight until the area is completely mopped up.

An estimated two and half hectares was burned by the fire. The fire was caused by a campfire left unattended.
