The ACT Rural Fire Service has completely extinguished a grass fire burning at Wallaroo on the ACT / NSW border.
The fire, in an area known as the Gungahlin Eucalypts, was contained to two hectares in size on ACT land.
Initial investigations have indicated the fire started on the ACT side of the border and may be suspicious. The fire also spread into NSW which was extinguished by the NSW Rural Fire Service Wallaroo Brigade.
A joint forensic investigation will now be undertaken by the ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Policing to determine the cause.
