Equipment and Training

Equipment

SES volunteers are supplied with all equipment necessary to perform their duties safely and professionally.  All uniforms and equipment comply with Australian Standards.

The SES has a range of vehicles including two and four wheel drives, trailers for storm and flood response, community education and welfare.  The SES also has two flood boats, a mass casualty trailer, two lighting trailers and a mobile cattle trailer.

Training

The SES is committed to providing quality learning experiences so that our members can help the community in times of natural or technological incidents or emergencies. As a Registered Training Organisation, the SES complies with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including OH&S, Equal Opportunity, Anti-discrimination and Privacy legislation.

As a registered training organisation, the SES offers the following awards:

  • Certificate II in Public Safety (SES Rescue)
  • Certificate II in Public Safety (SES Operations)
  • Certificate III in Public Safety (SES Rescue)
  • Certificate III in Public Safety (SES Operations)
  • Certificate IV in Public Safety (SES Leadership)

SES trainers have the skills and experience in adult education to ensure that volunteers receive safe and competent training, adhere to high standards of training delivery, promote and support success in learning and respect the dignity, values and self-esteem of participants.
