Recruitment Update 2007

The Rural Fire Service has received excellent support from the ACT Community for its 2007 Recruitment Drive. Our volunteer Brigades have taken on many new members and, together with experienced members, are continuing to train and prepare for a busy season.

Due to current fire season activities, our volunteer brigades are unable to accept any further inexperienced members for the 2007/2008 season. Our next intake will be for the 2008/2009 fire season. We anticipate running further Information Sessions beginning in May 2008.

Becoming a Brigade member is an exciting opportunity to serve your community, have a great time, stay fit and healthy, obtain nationally recognised qualifications and, every now and then, actually fight running bushfires.

Potential members with previous experience and current fire-fighting competencies gained in the ACT or another State or Territory, may contact the Volunteer Support Officer to ask about membership at any time of the year.
