About the ACT Rural Fire Service
The main function of the ACT Rural Fire Service is to protect and preserve life, property and the environment from fire in rural areas.
In exercising this function, the Rural Fire Service is responsible for operational planning, in consultation with the Fire Brigade, for fire outside the city area, including fire preparedness and fire response in rural areas.
The Rural Fire Service also provides operational support for other agencies.

ACT Rural Fire Service Business Plan
The ACT Rural Fire Service has released its new Business Plan to volunteers and staff.
The plan is a draft for consultation developed following a series of meetings with a range of ACT RFS stakeholders.
