PREPARE. ACT. SURVIVE.
The main function of the ACT Rural Fire Service is to protect and preserve life, property and the environment from fire in rural areas.
In exercising this function, the ACT Rural Fire Service is responsible for operational planning, in consultation with the ACT Fire Brigade, for fire outside the city area, including fire preparedness and fire response in rural areas.
The ACT Rural Fire Service also provides operational support for other agencies.
