Community Education
The ACT Emergency Services Agency delivers a range of community education initiatives on an annual basis on a range of hazards including bush and structure fires, storms, floods and medical emergencies.
Below are a sample of the major community education programs conducted by the ESA in the 2007/2008 financial year.
StormSafe - The ACT StormSafe campaign was conducted by the ACT State Emergency Service in August, September and October 2007 to raise awareness of the damage storms and floods can cause.
The campaign featured radio, television and print advertisements asking ACT residents the question, Have your prepared your home for a storm?

Bushfire awareness - Have your prepared your home for the threat of bushfire? That was the question put to ACT residents in early December 2007 in a series of radio, television and print advertisements. This campaign was designed to highlight the need for householders to play a role in reducing the risk from bushfires over the hot summer months.
