Media and Community Information Unit
The ESA Media and Community Information unit, in partnership with stakeholders, is responsible for:
- disseminating awareness of existing and emerging emergency situations to the ACT community;
- providing the ACT community with the knowledge and guidance to build resilience and prepare for the impact of incidents and emergencies; and
- providing timely and professional information to internal and external stakeholders according to best practise customer service principles.
The ESA Media and Community Information Unit is also responsible for maintaining MOU agreements with local major media outlets.
Functions of the ESA Media and Community Information Unit include media liaison 24 hours a day 7 days a week (on-call arrangement after hours), website content publishing and management and coordination and management of the ESA's community education program.
